Late last night (06/07/24) the Team were called out for a high risk vulnerable missing person from the Donnington Area of Newbury, supported by OxSAR and Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs.
The missing man was located by ground scenting dog "Hush" from Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs. Immediate lifesaving medical assistance was provided by the Team before extraction and handover to South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
Our team train weekly in multiple disciplines including, first responder medical care, navigation, radio comms, point of find and medical extraction. Last nights operation was a fantastic example how the weeks of training can all be put into a life saving use. We are proud of all those involved last night for their fantastic team work.
