We have a team of over 80 men and women who put their lives on hold whenever they receive a "callout" on their phones, they are just ordinary people wanting to make a difference. However without public support through donations the infrastructure that supports our operations would not be possible. Vehicle fuel and property rent represent two of our ongoing bills that we must pay. Not to mention the purchase and replacement of equipment and supplies. 

Other Search and Rescue operations such as the RNLI and Mountain Rescue enjoy greater publicity and therefore more consistent funding. Lowland Rescue, however, receives little publicity and therefore we have to work hard to raise funds.
