BLSAR’s success hinges on our dedicated investment in search and rescue training. Over the weekend, five of our team members journeyed to Shropshire for rigorous water training.
On Saturday, they immersed themselves in practical water rescue techniques, and later, at the River Teme near Ludlow Castle, they honed their skills in safe river navigation and identifying risks during search operations.
The following day, a more demanding challenge awaited them at the River Severn. Here, they demonstrated their ability to rescue missing individuals using throw lines and other equipment from the riverbank before venturing into the water to evacuate those in need and navigate the river’s complexities. We’re delighted to report that all five team members successfully passed their assessment, and they are now poised to join our water rescue team, further building upon their training and contributing their newfound expertise to the group.
