Our drone team attended a joint training session today in Swinley Forest alongside all three Thames Valley Fire services (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire). The goal was to demonstrate how aerial drone surveillance provides a bird’s-eye view of a simulated wildfire as it moves through dense woodland.
With recent flooding across Berkshire, it’s not just people who feel the impact of rising rivers wildlife can quickly find themselves in distress.
The exercise focussed on assessing and rescuing residents from simulated properties that had been cut off by a flood event.
On Sunday, 15th February, Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue (BLSAR) joined a high-level Multi-Agency Wildfire Exercise.
